What is SlideReel?

SlideReel is a native iOS video editor designed for creating short-form videos from text slides and video clips. It is built for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts creators, marketers, and bloggers.

How do I create my first video?

• Tap the + button on the home screen to start a new project.
• Add text slides by tapping Add Slide > Text Slide.
• Type your content, choose a font, color, and background.
• Optionally add video clips via Add Slide > Video Slide.
• Set transitions between slides in the timeline.
• Tap Export when you are ready to save your video.

What export formats are supported?

• 9:16 vertical — optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• 1:1 square — for Instagram feed posts and general use.
• 16:9 widescreen — for YouTube and landscape video.

How do I add animations to my text?

Select a text slide, then tap the Animations panel. Choose from five effects: Fade, Typewriter, Glitch, Slide Up, or Scale In. The animation plays when the slide appears in your video.

Can I use my own images as a background?

Yes. In the text slide editor, tap Background > Image, then select a photo from your library. You can also apply a Ken Burns animation (zoom in, zoom out, pan left, or pan right) to bring the background to life.

How do I align text on the slide?

SlideReel supports both horizontal alignment (left, center, right) and vertical alignment (top, center, bottom). Tap the alignment icon in the toolbar while a text slide is selected.

How do I import a video clip?

Tap Add Slide > Video Slide, then select a clip from your photo library. SlideReel will open the clip in the built-in trimmer where you can set the start and end points.

What is letterbox and how does it work?

Letterbox fills the areas above and below a video clip when the clip aspect ratio does not match your export format. You can customize the letterbox background color or use a blurred version of the video itself.

Can I add text on top of a video clip?

Yes. In the video slide editor, tap Add Text Overlay. You can position, style, and animate the text independently from the video.

How do I save or share my video?

After tapping Export, choose Save to Photos to save the MP4 file to your camera roll, or tap Share to send it directly to another app, AirDrop, or a messaging service.

How long does export take?

Export time depends on the number of slides, video clips, and your device. Most projects under two minutes export in under 30 seconds on recent iPhone models.

What video quality does SlideReel export?

SlideReel exports in high-quality MP4 using H.264 encoding, which is compatible with all major social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

The app crashed or is not responding

• Force-quit SlideReel and reopen it.
• Make sure your device has at least 500 MB of free storage.
• Update to the latest version of SlideReel from the App Store.
• Restart your iPhone if the issue continues.

My video export failed

• Check that you have enough free storage space.
• Try reducing the number of video clips in your project.
• Make sure the video clips you imported are not DRM-protected.

I cannot import a video from my library

SlideReel requires access to your photo library. Go to iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > SlideReel and set access to All Photos or Selected Photos.
